Dear Woodard Girls' parents, girls and friends,

Welcome to the Woodard Girls’ blog site! We are a very busy house with the girls involving themselves fully in so many different activities that it is sometimes hard to keep track! The aim of this site is to keep you all up to date with their activities and achievements. I aim to update the blog every Monday afternoon, so please do come back and visit it on a regular basis.

Monika wins joint best individual performance at House Music!

Well done Monika on a wonderful performance!

House Music

The annual House Music event (a school event, different from the house event earlier in the year) took place on Tues 17th Nov. Maddie did an excellent job at rounding up help from other musically talented girls in house to put together an exciting program of pieces performed in the evening. The whole house teamed up to sing a lovely group song too. Well done to Maddie, Ellie and Phaii in particular for their organisation.

Woodard Quiz Night

As if testing our fitness wasn't enough, after the Steepo event Mr Bennetts prepared questions to test our minds at the Woodard Quiz night. With lots of yummy curry to eat and a heap load of fun and challenging questions(and some rather bizarre) questions, it was a great way to spend an evening.

Steepo

The annual College Steepo even took place just before the half term break. It was a little nippy outside, but the girls did a great job running the cross country course. A special shout out goes to Elinor Denney who was our fastest runner! This will probably be the last time WG competes in this race, due to the girls' house structure changing next year, so winning both the Endeavour Cup and Senior Girls Cup was the best way to finish :)

Celebrating Success!

Last half term Miss Gall and Mrs Utting were very impressed with how well the girls adapted to life in Godwin, their work ethic and contribution to school life. We are also now the proud owners of the Senior Girls' Steepo Cups after a very successful race in October. Elinor Denney was our top runner. To celebrate, we had some yummy cake at break today.

Cookery class

Tonight, one of our school chefs came in to teach some of the girls how to make cheap, tasty, healthy meals at university. They learnt how to make a basic bolognase sauce, different ways to use it and serve it as well as making a lovely garlic ciabatta. Mark also showed the girls how to use every part of a chicken - they were very brave dislocating all the bones...!! Thank you so much Mark for coming to help - the girls had a feast!!
