Dear Woodard Girls' parents, girls and friends,
Welcome to the Woodard Girls’ blog site! We are a very busy house with the girls involving themselves fully in so many different activities that it is sometimes hard to keep track! The aim of this site is to keep you all up to date with their activities and achievements. I aim to update the blog every Monday afternoon, so please do come back and visit it on a regular basis.

The World War One commemoration parade was a chance for the schoolcommunity to reflect on the impact of the start of the World War in1914, when soldiers the age of our Sixth Formers had their liveschanged. Many sadly lost their lives and our current students read aseries of moving poems in their memory.

LAST BBQ!!!!
Well, the time has come for ½ the house to disappear for a
short time as IB exams are over – lucky for some say the A Level students! The
weather was reasonably kind to us as we met for the last BBQ of the year and it
was lovely to see groups sitting around chatting, laughing and enjoying each
other’s company.
SPRING DINNER
At the end of the Lent term, and in recognition that apart
from the Leavers Ball this would be the last time that we could meet as a
house, we all met for the inaugural Spring Dinner. The change in the Forum as
we moved furniture and decorated tables was impressive and set the scene for a
wonderful evening!
INTER-HOUSE DEBATING
Pippa, Amelia and Ann-Kathrin easily battled their way
through several rounds to reach the final of the inter-house debating
competition – our opponents – Woodard Boys!! With the topic “Lads Mags Degrade
Women and Should be Covered Up” there were always going to be interesting
points and constructive arguments. It was a fiercely competitive debate with
the girls holding their own and all three of them contributing freely to the buttles and questions on comments made
by the boys.
Despite their efforts and the questions asked by the rest of the house
from the floor we narrowly lost by ½ a point! Regardless, it was a terrific
effort – well done girls!
